The Retreat

We will have several planned excursions in addition to the two (optional) yoga/pilates classes per day. One excursion, planned for Monday, is a guided island tour so everyone can get their bearings and see what they might want to return to. More details about the other fully optional excursions are listed below. If you've traveled with me and Antonio before, you know that we are serious about offering a true escape. EVERYTHING is optional, the Spa itself is magnificent and worth staying at all by itself. The island is small and easily accessible to explore with the group or on your own. Yoga, Pilates and two meals a day as well as organized transport to the Spa from the ferry port are all included in the price. There is also multiple saltwater pools, sand beaches, and the spa of the hotel itself.

The Ferries are more limited at the beginning of our trip as they are still on off-season timing, however at the end of our trip there are many more options, including hi-speed ferries back to Athens (half the travel time) and ferries to other islands (Mykonos, etc). To get to Amorgos from the Athens Port (Piraeus), the ferry leaves at 5:30pm Friday the 18th and arrives at Amorgos between midnight and 2am where we will check into our rooms. Later on Saturday the group gathering and first travel-recovery yoga class will occur. Antonio and I will be arranging travel times with everyone so we can all make the Ferry. The hotel has graciously allowed us VERY early check-in for getting in between 12 and 2am.

Also, we end the retreat the Friday of Memorial Day Weekend, so it's a perfect chance to extend your trip in Athens a few days or maybe head directly to Mykonos or another island to end your trip with an extra adventure!

Your Instructors

Todd Erik Skoglund

From a host of various athletic activites and movement modalities, including various martial arts, calisthenics, gymnastics and acrobatics, I fell in love with the practice of yoga for its ability to ground me in the present moment, uniting my internal world with external experience.

Todd founded and co-owns South Boston Yoga, where he leads all levels classes, advanced asana and co-directs the 200hr and 500hr Yoga teacher trainings certification programs. Todd also teaches classes at Equinox Clubs in Boston and leads retreats and workshops around the US and abroad. His classes are challenging, fun, intelligent and taught with great respect and purpose bringing you a better awareness of your body's options.

Antonio Aniello

is mat Pilates certified through the Equinox Training Institute in Boston and RYT Yoga Certified through South Boston Yoga. His Pilates journey began in college when he was looking for ways to gain a competitive edge and realign the damage done to his body on the tennis court. After a short stint playing APT satellite tournaments he transitioned from the grind on the court to the grind in the office. With Pilates always being in his heart, and with the support of Jennifer Phelan, he decided to follow his Pilates passion and pursue a formal certification.

Antonio loves to layer strength-building movements with classical Pilates principles to strengthen his students’ bodies and minds and to give them an enhanced physical awareness and confidence.
